Americans Would Rather Travel Than Pay High Costs

Affordable, quality care apparently trumps the commitment to travel. Approximately 50 million uninsured Americans are choosing medical tourism rather than pay for medical care in the US.

Cancer Treatments (Oncology) Treatments

Cancer can be defined as an uncontrolled growth in the body brought on by abnormal cells. Cancer symptoms depend on where the growth is taking place and the type of cells affected. The study of cancer, the symptoms and the treatments is called oncology.

There are many ways to treat cancer treatments and if detected early, cancer is not considered life threatening. Because of the rapid research on cancer, many cancer treatment options are now available. Most cancer therapies are based on evidence. Some ways cancer can be treated are cancer surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, photodynamic therapy.

The jury is still undecided on alternative treatments for cancer. New cancer treatments such as stem cell therapy, molecular targeted therapy are being explored. Advanced cancer treatment centers have come up in various parts of the world including the developing world.

Cancer is considered a preventable disease since many types of cancers can be prevented by controlling the factors that cause them. Try to steer clear of tobacco, alcohol, obesity, air pollution, sexually transmitted diseases. Start exercising and live a healthy life.
