Top 5 Non-Surgical Liposuction Alternatives

16 August 2013

Keeping in shape is among the biggest headaches most people have these days. However, if you are obese, you should know that non-surgical liposuction is not for you, since it will not provide the dramatic results of surgery. Here we will discuss the pros and cons of five such procedures that can help reduce your fat and keep you in shape.

Laser Liposuction

Laser liposuction or MELT is used for removing concentrated fat areas in any part of your body, which even rigorous exercise and diets fail to remove. It is also considered as one of the safest fat removal options. The technique uses cold laser to penetrate your skin and react with fat cells to make them release their fat, which is used later by your body for energy. The procedure does not have any severe side effects. However, people with long-term diseases should not opt for this. Laser treatment costs about $390 if you go for treatment in a clinic in the US. Considering the quick healing time, safeness, and painlessness of the procedure, it is quite a good option.

Liposonix Ultrasound

This procedure uses a single treatment technique. Focused ultrasound is made to strike the fat tissues to destroy them. The destroyed cells then move to the liver and are metabolized by the body, so they are not required to be extracted. This process can remove fat from areas like the thighs, hips, abdomen, and waist. But again, this process is only for the people who need a little contouring to achieve the perfect shape, and not for those who are obese. The procedure is very costly, however, and you may have to pay around $2,725 per treatment in the US.

Cool Sculpting

In this method, fat cells are crystallized by cooling them to a temperature just higher than freezing point. This destroys them and they are later digested by your body. Up to 25% of fat reduction is possible using this technique in at least 2 sittings. It is a painless technique, but the area feels numb while the treatment is carried out. This is a great method not only because it doesn’t affect the surrounding tissues, but also its healing time is negligible, and the method achieves permanent results. The cost of cool sculpting is around $1,500 in the US.

This is a patented procedure which combines Lift and Roll procedures to not only remove fat, but also to make the skin sleeker and firmer. Fat is removed by activating natural lipolysis and increasing blood flow. It not only has a positive effect on the skin, but also achieves far more accurate results that other non-surgical methods of slimming. However, endermologie is a long-term process and requires around 28 sittings – one each week – to achieve the desired results. Also, even after a long time, you may see only minor changes in your fat levels. Endermologie costs about $1,075 on an average in clinics in the US.

This is by far the least painless non-surgical liposuction procedure. It involves introducing chemicals into fat cells through injections and then destroying them. This process also burns fat while helping with skin wrinkles and sagging. This can be applied to areas where wrinkles can appear, but results may take up to 15 sessions to be visible. Pregnant women or people with long-term serious diseases are discouraged from taking this treatment. But any other healthy person can opt for it. Mesotherapy is also quite affordable, but the price varies according to the amount of treatment required. It is charged at about $200-$700 per session in US based clinics.

You can go for any of these treatments depending upon your physical condition and your fat levels. It is a good idea to talk to your doctor before taking any course of treatment, and when you do decide to go for one, make sure that it is in the hands of an efficient and experienced professional. The prices of such treatments will vary from one country to another. The prices mentioned here are those charged at US based clinics but it could be way cheaper if you get the treatment done from some other country, preferably any of the most popular medical tourism destinations in the world.
